Key closeout documents include: As-built wind load calculations, product data with valid NOAs, installation certifications, PE sealed documents if required, warranty documentation, and final inspection reports.
Retain documents for the life of the building plus any warranty periods. At minimum, keep for 10 years. Digital copies should be stored in multiple locations. These documents may be needed for future renovations or insurance claims.
Provide copies to: the building owner, building department (as required), architect/engineer of record, and your company files. The owner should receive a complete package for future reference.
Provide both digital (PDF) and printed copies unless otherwise specified. Organize in clearly labeled sections. Digital files should be searchable PDFs when possible. Create an index or table of contents for easy reference.
